Tying Light
« on: February 10, 2009, 09:57:14 AM »

I keep meaning to tell ya'll about this. Embarrassed

A couple of weeks ago, Sandy and I were making the rounds through the Tuesday Morning store at Uptown (Line Ave) in Shreveport.

I came upon a collection of lights suitable for tying, but the one I got (of which there were several of at the time) was the Verilux 3 in 1! Cool

It has a clamp, table base (about ten pounds!!!) and floor stand! It also operates with a 27 WATT fluorescent "cool" bulb! It puts out the equivalent of 150 watts, plus it's a "natural spectrum" light! Grin

Makes things look "right" as opposed to fluorescent!

I've been looking to replace my old, OLD 13 watt WalMart light that don't exist anymore and haven't seen anything close to similar since! I just didn't think it had many days left in it!

This light so far, after having tied several hundred flies under it, has been awesome! And all of those really expensive Ott lights that seem to be the standard for fly tiers, I don't think, come close to this deal!

Tuesday Morning had probably 6 or 7 more of these on a shelf in the back for - ready? - $70!  Shocked

If you are in Shrevesburg or are in the vicinity and are in the market for a great light run over there real quick and see if there's any left. I can't imagine, though, that this would have been a high demand item! Cool

I'd say jump on it! Or check mine out this weekend at the Festival!
