I saw that a few are hungry for any info on fishing so I'll add my 2 cents.
I don't know how many of the readers here fish the Little Red too but I try to make it up at least every 5 or 6 weeks. I did get up there this past weekend and fished Saturday morning around Scroncher shoals, noticing a few caddis and lots of midges coming off. Little Red Fly Shop had a fundraiser for Children's Hospital midday so I didn't go back out until late afternoon. This time it was down above Rainbow Island around 5 and what a crazy sight. I've seen caddis hatches before but this one was obscene. You literally had to keep your mouth closed to keep them out. There were so many on the water that it was hard to tell what was your fly and what was bug. The only thing you could do was spot feeding fish cast above them hoping it was your fly they ate. I've been fishing there over 30 years and never seen them this thick. Only wish I had my video camera.

Hey Wayback! Interesting that you should mention that you've never seen 'em like that before up there! I think this spring's caddis activity on the the Little Mo' was the most I've ever seen as well in the same time period! Apparently conditions this spring were ripe for caddis! We'll have to make a note of: a mild late winter, moderate rains and lots of warm sunny afternoons in March and April.
