What a great day! Spent the afternoon with Jeff and some other folks getting exposed to the "dark arts" of fly tying. As promised, Jeff revealed secrets, but I'm not sure my skills are good enough to make great use of them. Yet. Anyhow, can't imagine a better way to get exposed to fly tying. Thanks, Jeff.
After tying, I went to the Factory Site and wore them out. In 2 1/2 hours caught 25+ trout. Most were smallish but a couple of nice chunky ones too. The Long Creek was the ticket. Rotated through some other flies to see what would happen (buggers, nymphs), but none were nearly as productive. Saw a couple of hits on the surface, but didn't seem quite time to try a dry...especially when the nymphing was so good.

Sat. 6th was my best day ever at the Little Missouri, fished just below the dam and caught 15+ some small, some very nice. Too bad I didn't have a camera. Fish were feeding 360 deg. around me for 2-3 hrs.
