I've been in touch with Christy Kitterman -
clkitterman@agfc.state.ar.us - the last couple of days and she reports that they should be sending about 400 Browns down this week! Sometime...

They will have the adipose fin clipped, as last year's batch did, but they will also have the metal tag implanted as she had talked about. You won't be able to see the tag, but they will be able to detect it electronically when they decide to search for them!
Bill Hathorn was by here just a few minutes ago and reported that he caught a Brown at
Low Water Bridge - YESTERDAY!
I wouldn't have believed about two thirds of the people who might have told me that, but it
was "Gumbo" Bill, after all! But to have one hanging around that far downstream after the summer we had in 2009 is pretty amazing, really!
Either it made it's way down from much higher up during all the high water this winter or they are much more viable throughout the river than we thought! It's an interesting report to say the least!
If you catch any Brown at all, measure it -
accurately - if you can, make note of the fins, when and where you catch it and either put it on here or e-mail Christy
(e-mail above) direct and let her know.
AND LET THE SUCKER GO!

Again the 2009 batch
(and this coming batch) had the adipose fin clipped, the 2008 fish had the left pectoral fin clipped and the 2007 fish were unscathed!
They need to know everything about the Brown development they can get!
