Re: Old Factory

Zero issues getting to the access!!!

In fact, they've paved a great big ramp to the water... You won't recognize the place! Turn right at the access sign around the newest cabins.

Re: Fish Kill

Indeed, factual, I'm afraid. :( Mike "Hen" Ingram sent me a few shots and I talked to him at length Tuesday as well... I suspect that we've got bad water coming off the lake after they shut off the Bunger valves. That was the time frame where Mike started to see dead fish. Certainly a lot of debris ...

August 5-11, 2019

Good news, as of now, for the weekdays!

No generation slated until 3:00 PM Monday thru Friday! :)

However, the weekend appears to be a bust. Generation scheduled to start up at 9:00 both mornings and running all the rest of the day! :?

Can't figure that out... It's quite odd!

Re: Generation July 29-August 4

Afraid so, John! :|

I suspect, as usual, they want to get the lake, just a little below flood. Understandable since we're about to go into peak tropical season.

Schedule shows round the clock until overnight Friday, then cranking back up at 11:00 Saturday and Sunday...

Looks like they backed off on the flows late this morning... Appears to be settling at normal three generator levels.

Re: Generation July 29-August 4

Monday the 29th! Lake was at 550.38' at 9:00 this morning. Still scheduled to run non stop through midnight Tuesday. That should get it very close to 548' by then and I suspect they'll be happy. They've been hoofin' water off as fast as I've ever seen it!!! Schedule for the rest if the week is crank...

Getting a foot of water off every 24 hours!

Just may get normal water as SWEPCO is currently predicting!

Re: Generation July 29-August 4

They are indeed dropping about a foot every twenty-four hours! :o

If they keep that pace up, we just might have normal conditions by mid week! :)

Re: Generation July 29-August 4

They must be feeling pretty ambitious about getting water off the lake! I'd definitely have to see it before I believe it, as yet. But it's conceivable! :o

Just keep an eye on it through the weekend...

Re: Flooding - July, 2019

:o Looks like they went full Bungers around mid day today! They dropped the lake nine tenths of a foot in tne last 24 hours!!!

I like it! :-)

Coming soon!

Once we get out of this high water event (sometime in August...) you can expect to start seeing plenty of Light Cahills. We were starting to see them already, but they really get going late August and usually don't peak until Late September to early October. It's a pretty significant hatch - almost ...

July 22-28, 2019

Round the clock releases until further notice...

Lake is currently at 556.71 dropping nearly a half foot every 24 hours right now. That will get better over the coming days.

But look for 24/7 generation for probably two weeks. :?

Re: Flooding - July, 2019

Lake is just now to 556.71 feet at 10:00 this morning. I assume that at least one Bunger Valve is open based on the steady 6' reading at HWY 27. The good news is that this is almost half a foot down in the last 24 hours and only minimal rain currently in the region and drainage. BUT , still 8 feet t...

Re: Flooding - July, 2019

By the way, SWEPCO schedule for next week indeed shows 24/7 three generators starting midnight Sunday. Don't be surprised if they open Bunger valves as well. Since the AR 27 gauge went from 3.29' to 4.82' in the last two hours, expect that to go to at least 5.5' tonight. If it goes higher than that ...

Re: Flooding - July, 2019

At this point the gauge at Boughton is showing well below their threshold for letting water go. I'd suspect we're going to see full crank up if it hasn't in fact already started! Of course, I may well be wrong - they were scheduled to only run a few hours tomorrow and Sunday afternoon. I have...

Flooding - July, 2019

Well, here we go again! In case you haven't seen the weather of the day, southern Arkansas from the mountains down to I-30 just got epically flooded overnight into the mid day today! I'm talking 15-16 inches in some places! The Upper River gauge at Langley shot up to 18.54 feet at noon today...

So, the registration seems to be working... Is it? I believe I've activated those who have registered as of tonight (Friday the 5th) - are you guys getting an email that shows that? And have any of you tried to log in as yet, or better yet tried to post. I need to know if it's working on ya'lls ends!

Schedule apparently already out! Monday, Tuesday & Wednesday - 1:00 PM to 8:00 PM Thursday - 1:00 to 7:00 Friday - 2:00 to 5:00 Saturday & Sunday - none scheduled... That actually bothers me a bit during the summer. We don't need long periods of no generation during the heat. Keep an eye that you do...

Sorry for the delay but we'll see how bad the bots get! Hopefully, this is newer technology and will...
