3/23 - 3/29/2020

Lots of water flowing! Around the clock releases with the exception of Wednesday morning 6:00 to 10:00 for those who can squeeze that in! Then it's back to round the clock until Sunday at 8:00 AM till 2:00 that afternoon. Man that should be some good afternoon fishing!!! You'll be able to fish until...

Re: Changes to Generation Schedule

Hey Ryan, I would expect the schedule to hold... Lake is at 548.27' this morning (3/23) and while they are bringing it down slowly, they don't like having it high at this time of year at all! I suspect there's also a bigger than normal demand for power anticipated with all the people staying home. I...

Re: Dynamite Hill & the Lodge

SWAHA cabins, and all their added cabins, are available. I suspect there's been some cancellations.

I know some of the campgrounds on the lake are closed - it's not clear, though I suspect the Dam Area campground is probably closed. Call SWAHA, I suspect they know.

Sorry I didn't get to this for this week, but they were running all week anyway! However, we apparently still have a good window on Saturday from 11:00 AM to 7:00 PM. Sunday is still showing round the clock until Monday shut down at 6:00 AM at which time (yall ready for this?) - NOTHING on th...

This weekend! Murfreesboro Municipal Building - 204 East Main Street - 71958 if you want to GPS it! So here's what we may be looking at right now! Friday afternoon should see folks showing up in the afternoon. I suspect I should be at the Municipal Building by mid day, one way or another. We can vis...

Friday - running 6:00 AM to 1:00 PM and again a few hours that night. Saturday and Sunday - running 7:00 AM to 11:00 AM an...

Lots and lots of Silversides! Those are the skinny little ribbons of a fish, almost transparent, that jump over your fly line!

Darters, Log Perch, assorted shiners.

Can't go wrong with a Chartreuse & White Clouser! I like to tie them on size 8's with kiptail instead of bucktail.

At least that's what I saw yesterday - and currently still showing that!

Re: January 27 - February 2, 2020

Each of the three generators in the powerhouse produces eight kilowatts per hour. Three times eight - twenty-four... So if there's a 24 in the box you've got full generation (all three units and about 3,200 CFS by the way), 16 is two generators and an 8, of course, one unit running. And always remem...

Re: Canoes,Kayaks, Inflatables

Just no motors to my knowledge. And that's from HWY 27 to the dam. I also believe that includes electric / batteries. It's a city water intake issue. No issues with canoes, yaks, tubes. Can do the Bridge Hole (Lowater) upstream, Long Pool at the Factory Site and The Couch Hole at River Ridge easily ...

Registration Severely Restricted!

Well, I had to do it! Open registration is completely shut down for this Message Board. Too many bots were making bogus registrations resulting in me having to do A LOT of extra work and it was starting to use up my bandwith allotments on the servers. Hey Ted! The Browns were typically small this time around - 8 or 9 inches. Gordon Shaw told me, just this morning, that he got one yesterday which was a chunky 10 incher though! Oh man! New Season! October 29, 2019

Whoo Hoo! The river is troutable again! (I like that one - " troutable "!) Stocking took place last week - sometime during the week. I got a rather generic answer last time from the AGFC that fish would be by the end of the month. Including up to 2,000 Browns, which I suspect will be in today or tom...

All zeroes again with bizarre exception of a few hours starting up Tuesday at 4:00 PM! No idea! :? I sure hope the AGFC stocks either today or tomorrow ahead of that release. Zeros on the schedule!

That should make for good conditions on the river with the temperatures diving! If the AGFC decides to stock this coming week, the river will be stable and cool! So, if there's any "bad" water still on the lake, it won't be coming through in large volumes at all... 8-)

Okay, the word I'm getting is that not only is the normal Rainbow October stocking on track, but they are sending another 1,500-2,000 Browns ! :o We don't know, of course, exactly when the fish will arrive, but within the next two weeks (last week of October at the latest) we should see a dramatic c...

Not that it matters much, but there's zero releases scheduled now. I haven't been up to the river in a month. There were virtually no trout left then, and the last report I got from Mike Ingram was dismal. He saw, much less caught, none two or three weeks ago. We're just going to have to wait until ...

Re: Fish Kill

Indeed, factual, I'm afraid. :( Mike "Hen" Ingram sent me a few shots and I talked to him at length Tuesday as well... I suspect that we've got bad water coming off the lake after they shut off the Bunger valves. That was the time frame where Mike started to see dead fish. Certainly a lot of debris ...

Good news, as of now, for the weekdays!

No generation slated until 3:00 PM Monday thru Friday! :)

However, the weekend appears to be a bust. Generation scheduled to start up at 9:00 both mornings and running all the rest of the day! :?

Can't figure that out... It's quite odd!
