Since the first generation on 25 August the Corps has generated at various times every day. Sometimes for a couple of hours sometimes for a few hours. Yesterday they generated in the morning and then again in the afternoon. The flow rate is anything from what looks like minimum flow to 2 generators, never a full river like 3 generators so I'm assuming they only got two generators fixed. The two that operate off one water intake. There is really no rhyme or reason to when or for how long they generate. I assume they are selling electricity? There has been no schedule posted on the SWEPCO site, it still shows last generation sometime in 2024.
The water temperature is 65 degrees, the water is very clear and the river bed is cleaning up nicely. There are live minnows and crawfish behind my house, only about 1/2 mile below the dam. That means most of the damage on the 25th was from the dam through the meat hole. Things are looking better, now we just need new large fish 🐟. We can only hope the AGFC stock on time this year. Come on October 15th!
Thanks Mike. That's good news. Glad to see the crawfish and minnows again, Mother Nature is awesome.
In earlier post, I understood that the trout were killed off (otters?) and maybe water quality, Mike, have you seen any sign of fish since then? Thank you.
