Yesterday they dumped 7659 rainbows out of the Jim Collins net pens. Haven’t been able to check them because of the generation, but my bet is they are 8 to 12 inches long, typical catch pen fish. That’s 1750 at 4 locations and 659 at Low water bridge. I looked for us to get another load from the Spring river this week, but haven’t been able to check that either because of high water. If we did, it was during generation, as it was with the catch pen batch. My bet is that a lot of those little fish got washed away.
Hasn’t been much chance to fish the past two weeks. They ran one bunger valve, as well as all three generators, for a week and got the lake back to 548. They have stuck to the posted schedule this week so fishing was limited to night time or that 2 hour period in the mornings at Old Factory site and Low water bridge, before the water gets there from the 7:00 am start time. Best bet to fish looks like this weekend if they continue on schedule.
Water temperature held good while the bunger was open, and the water clarity is also good. Fish that are left in the river will be strong fighters!! Quite a few people fished Albert Pike the pas two weeks and did fair since they did stock up there on the 10th of February. Will try to get you a Fish report soon, I’m getting a little cabin fever 😵💫😵💫😵💫. We all need a fish fix!!
