Thanks for posting these Jeff. Both were released without harm so you can come get them whenever your ready!! Thought the pictures were worth a thousand words about the quality of these stockers. FYI, one is at Hinds Bluff and one is at Riverside. 😂😂.

Here’s the pics that Mike sent me earlier!

That’s a couple of chunky critters! Looking forward to seeing these in about three or four months!!! 👀

The second one looks to be an Eagle Lake male! Deep bodied, better colors, bit of hook on the jaws and larger spots the further back on the tail!

I sent Jeff a couple of pictures which sez it all about the quality of fish we got from the Spring River hatchery. Maybe he will get around to posting them this time. I’m not gonna say that they didn’t stock Low water bridge or RIver Ridge, but I didn’t catch any new stockers at either place. 🤔🤔. There are plenty elsewhere, but scattered somewhat. Lots of people out today enjoying the new fish and the fabulous weather. Enjoy!!!  🤗🤗.

They stocked today just after they quit generating. 🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗. The water was still falling on the river.  They will generate tonight from 6 to 9 and tomorrow morning from 7 to 9. That will distribute the fresh fish all over the river. That’s a good thing!!  It means you can’t stand in one hole and catch 100 fish, but it also stops them from being hauled out so quickly. I haven’t fished them personal so I don’t know the size or quality of the fish, plan on doing so tomorrow and will report. Also don’t know if they stocked all locations, I’m sure of Hinds Bluff and River Side because I saw people catching them. Have a happy thanksgiving and enjoy the new meat!!  You knew as soon as I knew!!!

Thanks Hen, good work.  Is the car wash bridge the low water bridge going into the big swimming hole?  I'm not familiar with the description.  Thanks again.

Thanks Hen for the update. I was hoping they would stock, but man it looks like some cold weather. Oh well, maybe after Thanksgiving. John D

As of 30 minutes ago the river has not been stocked in November!!  The fish hunting is really slow to say the least. I just texted Melissa at Spring river and asked her if she thought we would get out 5520 trout that are scheduled for November. Her EXACT response was “we plan to stock narrows before thanksgiving “. One thing for sure, it will be like fishing in a barrel when they do stock because there is no generation schedule for the rest of this week. Weather has been really cold, so water temps are good all over the river. Had a few good reports on fishing at Albert Pike around the car wash bridge.  Those fish were from the Greers ferry hatchery on the Little Red so they were on the small size as usual. Always better fish from the Jim Hinkle hatchery on the Spring river.  See ya on the river.

Hen's Nest Reports! / 11 November 22 “from a good source!!”
« Last post by HEN on November 11, 2022, 05:25:26 PM »
One of my good sources told me they decided not to stock fish here until the cold weather hits next week, BUT they were to stock ALBERT PIKE yesterday??  And they did!!  Go figure 🤔🤔🤔. At least you have an option this weekend. It’s gonna get really cold here starting tomorrow so there should be no reason they don’t start bring that multitude of fish Jeff sez they are to stock in November. Guess we should just be thankful for the early fish we got 3 weeks ago and look forward to the coming 7 months of good fishing. There is a good article on the Jim Hinkle Spring River Fish Hatchery up at Mammoth Springs in the November-December 2022 issue of Arkansas Wildlife magazine. It will give you some insight as to why our stocking numbers have been down (most of our fish comes from there) and what we may expect in the future. See you at Albert Pike!!😁😁😁.
