17 May 2023 “obscene catching!”
« on: May 17, 2023, 07:44:22 AM »
The catch rate at the park has been obscene this past week. I have reports of guys catching well over 100 fish in a day. I’m not into that marathon fishing anymore, my back just won’t take it, old you know. 😬😬. Still, in a two hour period it hasn’t been unusual for me to catch over 60 fish. There are more fish in the RIVERSIDE area that I’ve seen in a long time. The water clarity and temperature has been great and if you can get a little chop on the water, it all comes together.

The generation pattern for this week is ideal to me. Keeps the river flushed and makes for great morning fishing. They have been sticking to the posted generation schedule really well. 🤗🤗.

It’s been good to see Jeff on the river a few times in the past few weeks. You remember him don’t you, the old guide on this river 🤣😂🤣.

I also had a day with perfect conditions at River Ridge last week and caught one fish after the other right in front of the stocking pipe. Some really nice ones too. There are still plenty of fish in places down river, you just have to find them. I would not waste my time at Hinds Bluff, as usual, it’s pretty much fished out by the bait chunkers.

Hope we get our scheduled 1000 fish delivered this week?  Then it will really be obscene fishing at the park. People always ask me how many I caught and I honestly don’t usually know. I know you can catch one ever 2 minutes right now, so you can calculate it. My standard answer is that I learned a long time ago that “ life is a whole lot more fun when you quit keeping score!!”  Just enjoy.
