After 24 days straight of running the bunger valve, with the lake at about 539, they stopped the water at 8:00 am this morning. Who knows when they will start back up??  River looks a little cloudy, but not too bad. You can't check the generation schedule because they are just running the bunger.  Be careful, I don't think they blew the siren the last few times they opened the bunger!!😬😬.

‼️ @ 5:00am Wednesday morning the 21st of February: not running any water at this time.

‼️ @5:00 am Thursday morning the 22nd of February:    not running any water at this time.
Had reports yesterday of some fisher people with 50+ fish catches!!

‼️ @7:00 am Friday morning the 23rd of February:  not running any water at this time.
Lots of fish scattered all over the river. More reports of large catches.

‼️ @5:00 am Saturday morning the 24th of February: not running any water at this time.
Fishing slowed a little yesterday, full moon and falling barometer didn't help. Same again last night.
Looking good for all you weekend fisher people. Try some brown flies, I think the fish that survived the 24 day                         bunger valve run may have learned what to eat in the river. Of course attractor flies still work, but I think you can             catch bigger fish on natural flies. Just my opinion!!
I'm sure you have all figured out by now, that checking the generation schedule now is a waste of time!! No             generation is possible with the broken trash racks, and they don't post the bunger valve running anywhere.

‼️ @ 6:00 am Sunday morning the 25th of February: not running any water at this time.
That gets you thru the weekend, I'll post next time they start running water. LOTS of people out fishing yesterday.
Some catching, some not!🤔. There has been a lot of pressure at the access stocking sites. You can only step
on the fish so long before they get lock-jaw. 🤣🤣.

Just for all you weekend fisher people, as of 6:00am this morning they are stilling running the bunger valve full force!!  This makes 22 days straight with no stopping. It could change at 7:00 am, but I doubt it 🥴🥴🤔🤔.

According to Ryan Gary, our AGFC trout guru, they stocked here again yesterday!! At Riverridge 1880 fish/730 lbs. and at Low Water Bridge 520 fish/200 lbs. Each fish therefore averaged 6 ounces.

It's now been 21 days straight of running the bunger valve, and that's all I have to say about that!! 🤬🤬.

I don't know if I'm right or wrong to do so, but I told Mr. Gary that it might be nice to divert a few of the fish due to be stocked here, to Albert Pike?  At least we could fish them there!!  Normally they stock very few fish up there. He said let him check with the Corp and see if he could find out what was going on here 🤣🤣🤣🤣. Good luck!!  He said they might consider diverting a few fish up there.

I happened to see the stocking truck and followed it to Riverside. Nice to know they are still stocking. Maybe we will get a break soon and can sample the size, they  look pretty nice!!

As you can see Jeff's message board crashed again!!  Jeff told me if I broke it one more time, I could never play with his toys again. 😬. Thank you Jeff for all your work in keeping this forum up and running.

Nothing new here on the river. Still running one bunger valve wide open, making it impossible to fish anywhere on the lower river. The lake is at 542.81, over 5 feet down from standard pool. I've heard rumors from the park rangers that this summer they are going to pull the lake WAY down, guess that's started??  Lowest it's ever been is 527 so they have about 16 feet to go to get there!!😬😬🥴. At 1/2 half foot a day that's 32 more days!!  Surely not 🤔🤔. I do know that they still haven't repaired the generator gates, so that job still has to be done.

As I noted before the crash, they did stock here and at Albert Pike last week. If you just must get a "fish fix", Albert Pike is your best bet. Not a lot of fish, but you might get a pull on your pole if you can find the pod of fish. 🎣

I'll try to keep you posted if they do happen to shut the bunger valve for a while, you never know what the Corp might decide to do!!!
