It’s a rain out for me this morning. I don’t do rain days!! I own a good rain coat but I try not to get it wet 😂😂. Fished yesterday for about an hour and a half, then it started raining, but that’s ok, we need the rain here. Maybe the lake will come up a little. I caught about a half dozen yesterday on my “R&A March Brown Slider”, it’s just fun to fish. Three other guys were fishing and all caught about a limit, all on different flies, a white midge grub, a light Cahill wet fly and an olive woolly bugger. Even with 3 days of no generating the park water has held at 60 degrees. I did get bored of the same terrain at the park last Wednesday and checked out a deep hole down at River Ridge. I caught 2 trout, you just never know!! Did they survive the summer there or just recently wash down from the park area, who knows???🤔🤔🤔. You can often find a fish or two scattered over the river during the summer, but you just have to like to chase them, they are VERY few and far between!! I’m still fishing the same flies, waiting for the dumb fish to be stocked in November, then it’s back to the attractor flies. Will keep you posted when that happens, until then there are still some nice fish at the park to chase. They are Leary, smart and won’t take much pressure. Long leader, long section of 6x tippet, and you can’t beat up the water. I try to tell people to do all that false casting in one area, then make your final cast into the area you intend to fish!!! If you slap the water 4 or 5 times then drop your fly in it, the fish have scattered!! Just a little hint. Tight lines!!🎣🎣🎣
