What are you using to catch fish???

As of 5:00 pm the bunger is closed completely. Just in time for you weekend folks Gordon!!👍👍 There is no flow on the river. Let's hope they hold it this way though the weekend!!😃😃. We have had 2 inches of rain in past couple of days so the water is very muddy but it is fishable!!  There are no workers at the dam, guess they all went home for the weekend, Tennessee or Alabama I think?

‼️ 4 May 2025: it's Sunday morning and the bunger is still closed looks like they will hold it through the weekend. Good fishing on upper end of river. Some really nice large fish in the river. I caught several yesterday in the 15 to 17 inch size with lots of girth-strong!

Just in time to ruin a weekend for folks.  They must get a kick out of this.

At 8:00 am this morning the Corp opened the bunger valve to an un fishable level.

At 4:00 PM today, with the lake at 537.23, the Corp closed the bunger valve completely. No flow on the Lil'Mo' at this moment. That's all I know about that.

Thanks Mike.  Looks like this spring is wiped out pretty well on the lower river.  Too bad they didn't get it all together and stock Albert Pike heavily during Dec, Jan, and Feb.  But then, the Corps doesn't really care about fishing.  Maybe the Chamber of Commerce and other local leadership could have worked with them for some alternative plans.  Scheduling this work on the dam during the spring rainy season could have been put off until June and work through the dry days of summer.  Oh well, I'm just another arm chair quarterback spouting off.  Please keep up the good work Mike.

As of 9:00 am they are still bungering wide open. The lake is at 537.48, headed to 534 I guess??  The " Under Water Construction Company " worked all through the weekend with the bunger running and are still doing so at this moment. So much for my theory of bunger all weekend and shut down Monday thru Thursday, not happening!!

There is all kinds of equipment at Sawaha and no less that 12 pick ups that say Under Water Construction Company on the door. 3 huge crains and they have built a working dock by the gates on the dam. BIG undertakings 👍👍. No way to fish on the lower river at this time.

Anybody fishing Albert Pike with the lower river in such a state of uncertainty.  Thanks Mike for your reports.

Today at 4:00pm the Corp opened the bunger to an un fishable level. This could be the start of a pattern. Since the Corp doesn't work on Fridays they may run the bunger Friday thru Sunday, while the men are not working on the trash gates and stop the flow Monday through Thursday while they are repairing the dam. BUT WHAT DO I KNOW!!😵💫🤔🤔. Time will tell

I give a robust second to what Gordob posted.  Mike, your reports are much appreciated and all should know you cannot predict the future----especially when COE is involved.  Please don't stop.
